LCU Supply

Note : In the patch notes for patch 2 there was mention of fixing bugs that lowered supply use. This may have changed the lower supply use of moving units, but this hasn't been tested after patch 2.

Information on supply usage by ground units is sparse in the manual, therefore I have run my own tests to get figures. In some instances these are probably exact formulas, though mistakes may have been made. In other instances, supply usage is influenced by different factors, some unknown. In these cases, number given here are little better then (educated) guesses, so I advise players to build in decent margins so your units will not run low on supplies.

[edit] Rear area

Finding out the amount of supply used by a rear area unit (not involved in any combat) is very easy. To do so, go the the unit information screen, here you will find "supply required", . This number is the approximate amount of supplies used by the unit during a month when it does not move or engage in combat. The formula for supply use during one day is the following.

Supply used in a single day = Supply required/30 , rounded up. (This rounding up will lead to a higher actual supply usage for units then the 'supply required' number)

The supply usage is not influenced by OpMode, fatigue, disruption, admin skill of leader, ... The only factor that could "break" the formula, was a supply shortage, which reduces supply used.

I also could not find any factor that changed the 'supply required' of rear area unit (terrain, base size, ...), apart from over-stacking them on islands. The formula for finding supply required is approximately Ready devices + 0,5*Disabled devices

[edit] Movement

Moving units around in any OpMode except strategic move, lowers supply used. If Strat Move is used, the formula for rear area units applies. If moving around in any other way, the approximate supply used is as follows.

Supply used in a single day marching = Supply required * 0,024, rounded up

Again, this was not influenced by OpMode and terrain. To my knowledge, no tests have been done to test for fatigue, leader skill, ..., but I believe that they will also be irrelevant.

[edit] Combat

In combat, supply use seems to be correlated to losses taken. The better combat goes for your side, the less supply will be used. This makes calculating supply needed for combat units tricky, as many factors influence combat and so the supply needs. The heavier the combat you expect, the more supplies you should bring.

The range of supply use during combat is very large, from hardly any extra supply used (+5%) to triple normal use. Even more extreme use has been observed, but this was with units trapped on an island in the last days before elimination.

[edit] Replacements & Upgrades

When a device is upgraded or replaced, 1 supply is used per load coast of the new device. Load cost per device can't be found in-game, but it can be found in the editor. Some examples are given below.

  • Infantry squad : 10-15
  • Stuart I Light Tank : 10
  • Sherman V Tank : 23
  • 25 Pounder : 11
  • 4.5" Field Gun : 16
